Eighty-one teams are competing this week in San Diego, CA for the 37th Etchells World Championship. The first day of the regatta brought out some of the finest conditions that could be expected for early summer, with clear skies and wind in the mid teens greeting the fleet. It also brought out San Diego Yacht Club member Bill McKenna who took his helicopter to the race course, and along with Mark Burge, they put together a compilation of the experience.
