Published on January 28th, 2014
(January 29, 2014; Day 12) – French skipper Thomas Coville and the 101-foot trimaran Sodebo are fully in the grasp of the St. Helena High, and are badly bleeding miles in pursuit of the solo around the world record set of Francis Joyon (FRA). Light winds along the Brazil coast have lead to a 6 knot average over the past 24 hours, with no immediate forcast providing the train east toward Africa and the Southern Ocean. With 19,134 miles remaining, Coville is now 716 miles behind Joyon’s record pace (as of 01:00 TU). Team website.
