SailGP returns to France for Season 5

Published on March 5th, 2025

The international sports league launched its fifth season in November 2024, but a venue shuffle has been needed to retain what was promoted as their most expansive schedule to date. With 14 events revealed in July 2024, the league is moving its tenth stage from Italy to France this fall.

With the event initially planned on September 6-7 in Taranto, changes at the Taranto City Council late last year proved unfavorable for the league, with the event now to be held in Saint-Tropez on September 12-13. Both Taranto and Saint-Tropez held events for Season 4, but the league did not intend to return this season to France… until now.

“I am delighted to welcome the French event of the prestigious SailGP international championship back to Saint-Tropez – hosting this competition for the fourth time is an immense source of pride for our city,” reports Mayor of Saint-Tropez, Sylivie Siri.

The event will be the first time the France SailGP Team race in front of a home crowd in nearly two years.
