Pretty much the same, except different

Published on September 19th, 2024

Winter offshore racing during the heyday of IOR continues today as the SORC organization hosts a race series that surrounds the Florida peninsula and the Bahamas.

A year ago, it was Andrew Clark’s J/122 Zig Zag that won the ORC 3 Class and overall series honors, edging out Chris Lewis’ J/44 Kenai by three points with the HH42 Inception six points off the lead.

The same four races will be held in the 2024-25 Islands In The Stream Series, though this edition will conclude in Nassau rather than Key West. Pretty much the same, except different:

St. Petersburg to Ft Lauderdale Race – November 20, 2024
Wirth M. Munroe Ocean Race – December 6, 2024
Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race – January 9, 2025
Nassau Cup Ocean Race – February 20, 2025
