Countdown to 2024 Atlantic Cup

Published on May 20th, 2024

Nine doublehanded teams representing four countries will compete in the 2024 Atlantic Cup. The seventh edition for the three-stage offshore event for Class40s starts May 25 in Charleston, SC.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring such a high quality fleet of shorthanded sailors to compete in what has become America’s toughest ocean race!” reports Race Director Hugh Piggin. “It’s been six year’s since we’ve run this race and the Class40 sailors and boats have changed considerably since then. It’ll be fascinating to see how these teams deal with the weather and navigational challenges this unique race course throws at them.”

The Atlantic Cup returns is the only dedicated Class40 race in the United States and the longest offshore race in the Western Atlantic.
