Plan your road trip to Seattle

Charlie Scott won the first J/24 World Championship when the 1979 event was held in Newport, RI. Those were the early days for the J/24 Class which has now hosted 43 world titles, with the 44th edition to be held October 1-5 in Seattle, WA.
This will be the 14th time the J/24 World Championship has been held in the USA and the first time for the Pacific Northwest. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the Puget Sound can deliver the full range of conditions, but regardless of the winds, the challenging currents will always be part of the equation.
While it’s a privilege to compete in a World Championship, there is nothing simple about hosting the event. One design classes must apply for permission, and approval comes with a long (and costly) list of requirements.
The host Seattle J/24 Fleet 26 has assembled an organizing committee that includes two-time world champion Keith Whittemore, with Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle as the host club. Renowned Principal Race Officer Mark Foster will be in charge with support from-the-water judges for the ten-race series.
