Light winds for Marion Bermuda start

Published on June 16th, 2023

Beneath sunny skies and a light breeze, the 32-boat fleet began the 2023 Marion Bermuda Race on June 16 from Marion, MA. The Gulf Stream forecast shows the breeze for the 23rd edition starting to build slightly, but for now, models show that the 645 nm course will be a true test of patience and skill. One boat, Tiara, a Cape Dory 36, retired after the start due to a broken furler. No injuries were reported on board.
