The World Sailing Speed Record Council has confirmed the establishment of two new World Records set by Clarisse Crémer (FRA) when she raced her IMOCA 60 Banque Populaire X in the 2020-21 Vendée Globe. By completing the 21600 nm course in 87 days 2 hours 24 minutes and 25 seconds (Nov. 8 to Feb. 3), Crémer set a new Around the World Eastabout women’s record in both the solo and open categories, improving on the time of 94:04:25:40 posted by Ellen MacArthur (GBR) on February 2001 in the same race.
