2020 Optimist Pram Team Racing Invite

South Carolina Yacht Club hosted its sixth annual Optimist Pram Team Racing Invitational on November 14-15 in Hilton Head Island, SC. Six teams of three sailors each, all under the age of 16, completed 36 races in the regatta.

The regatta was won by the team from Hampton Yacht Club (Hampton, VA) followed by South Carolina Yacht Club (Hilton Head, SC) in second place, Toms River Yacht Club (Toms River, NJ) in third, Carolina Yacht Club (Charleston, SC) in fourth, Annapolis Yacht Club (Annapolis, MD) in fifth, and Lakewood Yacht Club (Seabrook, TX) in sixth.

All competitors sailed in new or nearly-new Optimist dinghies provided for the regatta by Zim Sailing and was umpired by six nationally-certified sailing umpires from throughout the East coast. A volunteer race committee of 12 local sailors ran the races.
