Finalizing sports for 2023 Pan Am Games

Panam Sports expects to confirm the full sport program for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games at the disorganization’s next Executive Committee in March 2020. The Pan American Games program would continue to be based upon the sports at the following year’s Olympics, with Sailing among the 28 core Olympic sports to be featured.

Panam Sports have expressed hopes at least 25 of the events at the Games will serve as qualification events to the Olympic Games. When Santiago was awarded the Games in November 2017, organizers proposed a program featuring 39 sports.

The 2023 Pan Am Games are set to take place between October 22 to November 5 in Chile’s capital and largest city. Full report.
