Worrell 1000 to return in 2021

After the 2019 Worrell 1000 Reunion Race brought back the beach cat contest which held 20 editions from 1976 to 2002, the endurance contest will return again in 2021. As in previous years, the race will cover approximately 1000 miles with overnight stops along the US southeast coast.

The start will be on Monday, May 3rd 2021 in Hollywood Beach, Florida, and the finish will be in Virginia Beach on May 15th. The eligible boat class will be the Formula 18 and will be limited to the first 15 official registrants with paid entry and most importantly – acceptance by the Organizing Authority.

Competing in this race is no cake-walk as the weekend sailor unversed in offshore sailing will NOT be accepted. As many know from past events – this race can break not only boats and bones, but spirits as well. For the safety of all – only the most experienced will be allowed to compete.
