Rosignano, Italy (June 12, 2013) – Two more races were competed on the third day of the Etchells World Championship, with the 41 teams confronted with westerly winds turning to northwest up to 12-14 knots at Yacht Club Cala de’ Medici, Italy.
In the first race of the day (the fourth one of the series), the Swiss yacht skippered by Seamus McHugh (with the 2007 world champion Andy Beadsworth as tactician) took the lead at the beginning and stayed at the head of the fleet until the finish line.
The second race was even tougher than the first one with crowded mark roundings resulting in several protests: winner of the race was American Argyle Campbell.
After five races with one discard, the leader of the general provisional results is still American Marvin Beckmann with crew Steve Hunt and Ezra Culver, with the Swiss team in second and
European champion Ante Razmilovich in third place.
Racing resumes Thursday at 12:00pm.
